Serfaus in Winter

A sunshine paradise

Serfaus is located right at the top of the Tyrol. The high terrace forms a unique balcony which captures the sun day in and day out. To the north, the enormous ridge of the Komperdell and the Furgler keeps out bad weather. But the terrace is open in the other direction, so it lets all the warmth of the south come flooding in. According to long-term meteorological records, Serfaus is the sunniest spot in the Tyrol and enjoys the longest hours of sunshine in the whole of Austria.

Between yesterday and today

The romantic setting of the old village and its Rhaeto-Romanic culture are just the one side of Serfaus. The other is the refreshing openness of the people here. Put the two together, and what you get is that incomparable Serfaus atmosphere.

You can amble through the village and enjoy the local atmosphere, secure in the knowledge that nothing will happen to you. There’s no sound of noisy traffic in Serfaus because vehicles are not allowed to drive through the village.
