The First Track
Mark the mountain with your “First Track” before others do so! You only have to get up early. Because at 7:30 a.m., the first cable cars in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis buzz towards a snowy heaven. The number of participants is limited and an unforgettable experience on velvet grounds awaits them. The “First Track” is offered in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis every Wednesday, also includes an exclusive mountain breakfast, which is served in the Ski Lounge in Serfaus. The “First Track” will also be accompanied by the CEOs of the lift companies or the directors of the ski schools. So you get first-hand information on the latest news from Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis.
Those of you who have always been fascinated by the way Snowcats dance across the slopes in what is both a powerful, yet elegant manner can now reserve their front row seat in the 9-tonne piste preparation machine with its 490 hp engine. Everyday at 4:15 p.m. a maximum of two persons can hop aboard the “Bully-Rider” in Serfaus (meeting point at the bar in the Komperdell panoramic restaurant). You can then experience first hand how the slopes are perfectly prepared. The ride lasts approximately two hours.
Leave your skis and go to the mountains. The Masner Express is now even more comfortable and has room for 17 people! The fact that all people can take a seat in the driving direction makes it more pleasant to enjoy the wonderful winter scenery of the Masner area without skis! Rides go from the Lazid over the P1 viewpoint at Pezid to the Masner Alpine Ski Hut and take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Behind the Scenes
What actually happens behind the scenes at the cable car stations and how do the cable cars actually work? This winter in the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis region you can learn these secrets and many more. A tour around the piste preparation machine workshop will give you a small taste of just how much time and careful handwork is required to keep everything running smoothly. After visiting the pumping station and a look at snow-making technology, everyone then enjoys coffee and cake together so there is still plenty of time for you to pose any more burning questions you might have.
The Serfaus Dorfbahn - metro
The Dorfbahn is an underground driverless cable railway with air cushion suspension which operates in the municipality of Serfaus. It is similar to a conventional subway or underground railway in that it is spatially separated from private transport and runs from end to end through a tunnel. It is considered to be the world’s smallest and highest air cushion subway. The Dorfbahn runs through a tunnel underneath the Dorfbahnstraße in Serfaus - there are four stops - Parkplatz, Kirche, Zentrum and Seilbahn. The utilisation of the Dorfbahn is free.
The early bird catches the worm, they say. That’s why early risers in Serfaus can also reward themselves with a very special experience. The Masner Express sets off early up to the Hexensee hut. Here you can enjoy extensive views of the sea of Tyrolean summits in the light of the rising sun. After that, the Masner Express takes you onwards to the Masner Alpine Ski Hut, where you can look forward to the delights of a sumptuous mountain breakfast. After a good rest, it’s time to hit the slopes. Alternatively, you can take the Masner Express back to the Lazid.
Although a wonderful day’s skiing out on the slopes may be drawing to a close, an exceptional experience still awaits you: Sunset at the Masner! As the setting sun bathes the mountain tops in warm, red light and slowly but surely announces the onset of dusk, you’ll already be enjoying your aperitif. Put on the slipper socks and enjoy your delights which are served at your table at the Fine Dine Restaurant. Definitely an unforgettable experience – or après ski in its most wonderful form.
Experience alpine flair in a unique way. If you are seeking culinary delights at a whole new level, you can now find them in a unique location: The Crystal Cube. Close to the “Z1” viewing platform, at a height of 2,600 m you will find a larger-than-life inclined cube structure. The exterior is made from mirrored glass, meaning that no one can peek in from the outside, which gives you an extra-terrestrial feel. But as soon as you step inside the cube, your perspective changes dramatically. Thanks to a facade made entirely from glass, you have fantastic 360-degree views of the winter mountain panorama. Furthermore, the inclined position of the cube creates the impression that you are perched on the face of the mountain.
